It took all of myself control not to bust in there when we arrived. The place looked just as I remembered it. I shivered, as though, ice had replaced my spine. The cold air enveloped my entire body. The multiple layers of clothing could not protect against the deathly cold. The walkway leading up to the warehouse was cracked. Weeds and dandelions poked out from those cracks. Red roses grew wildly in thick batches by the gate. The moonlight cast a ghoulish glow on the place. Vines formed a twisted maze upon the side of the building, reaching their tentacles towards the roof. The walls showed black decay from neglect. Splotches of original paint hinted at the house former prosperity. Cobwebs covered the corners of the doors, tiny black spiders threading towards their prey. I heard someone behind me gulp. “Lotus, this is where you grew up?” Jean asked. I didn’t answer. “Well come on, we can’t just sit here while Bella is in danger,” I said. We had to wait until nightfall to put the plan into action. I paced nervously around as we waited. “Lotus don’t, vorry ve’ll get her out,” Kurt said “no, you don’t understand, this place is dangerous. It’s not meant for children Bella’s age. Some of the people in there are not child friendly,” I said. When night finally fell, I was more than ready to go to work. Logan took care of the guards on the roof. As I made the night pitch black. When all of the guards were down, we went in and not to quietly either.
The siren screamed as we ran through the halls. The others took care of any and all guards that came at us as I lead the way. I know there were only two places that Dr. West would keep Bell and at the moment I had a feeling she was laying on and examination table. I lead the way to the lab and when we burst in I knew my hunch was right. “MAMA!!” Bella yelled on the table. The lab was fresh in my mind and, like the rest of this god forsaken place, was the same. A musty, dank oder creep into my nose as I breathed in. Black and brown mold dotted the ceiling in clusters, evident of rain seeping through the roof. Windows covered with grime and dirt. The calm moonlight struggled to penetrate the darkness in thin thread rays. Sharp shadows roamed around the room. Wallpaper lay curled on the floor and large jagged hole dug through the wall stood as though daring any to enter. “Well, Lotus you never disappoint,” my head spun to the left and there stood Dr. West. “you will release my daughter,”  I growled “oh no, I think that she will be an excellent lab rat just like you were,” Dr. West said “if you so much as lay a finger on a single strand of her hair I will tear you to shreds,” I said through clenched teeth. Dr. West laughed and removed his lab coat. From his back a pair of wings that resembled a bat’s sprang out. “You are welcome to try. It turns out that the serums I used on you worked on me,” he said and lunged at me. “MOVE!” I yelled. Everyone else had just enough time to move out of the way as I was grabbed by the shoulders and lifted into the air. When Dr. West had broken through the roof, he flew higher. When we were a nice distance from the ground, he lifted me above his head and threw me towards the ground. I had just opened my wings as I landed without so much as a scratch. “You were my perfect creation,” he said. “You and I would have ruled the world,” he continued “I would have died first,” I hissed.  “Oh, don’t worry, you won’t live to see tomorrow’s sunrise,” he hissed and he dove at me.
